The 27-year-old was flown by Westpac Rescue Helicopter from Port Macquarie to Sydney’s burns unit at Royal North Shore Hospital after suffering serious burns to his lower legs.
A helicopter spokesman said reports indicate the incident happened on property when an accelerant was allegedly thrown on to a fire.
The man was taken by ambulance to Port Macquarie Base Hospital where he was later transported by helicopter.
