MOW MNC is literally taking it to the streets at key locations in the Camden Haven and Wauchope with staff promoting the wholesome quality, great taste and variety of MOW’s food and services at public exhibits in local shopping centres.
“We want people to know more about our three key aims – to deliver delicious, value for money, nutritious meals to our clients; to assist those clients to stay in their own homes where they are most happy and comfortable; and to provide regular social contact when our volunteers deliver the meals, and when we host a growing number of social activities for our clients,” said chief executive officer, John Carroll.
“We want to show through these celebrations that we are constantly improving, delivering great food, retaining our core values and doing it with respect and care.
“On Meals on Wheels Day we want to chat to people who might like to try our service, talk to those who may be considering the service for their parents or other loved ones, and discuss options for people who might like to become volunteers.”
“On the Mid North Coast we deliver in excess of 140,000 meals each year and employ almost 1,000 staff and volunteers, all focused on working toward the health and happiness of our 1,000 plus clients.”
Meals on Wheels Day celebrations will be held in Laurieton outside Coles supermarket on the corner of Bold and Tunis Streets, from 9am to 12 noon and in Wauchope at the IGA Timbertown on Oxley Highway from 9.30am to 12.30pm.
