They completed the tough relay course in three hours 47 minutes. Husband and wife Dan and Ali McLachlan teamed up with Gary Henderson for the event.
The course consisted of a 16 kilometre ocean paddle, 11km run, 35km mountain bike and was capped off with a 6km trail and beach run.
Ali put in a sensational trail and beach run to make up the require seconds and also snatch a 20 second advantage to secure the outright win for the team.
Earlier this year Ali placed fifth in the women's division at the Forster Adventure race.
This was the team’s first race together, however they train together each week paddling with the Kayaktivity group and cross train on the bike on local bunch rides.
Another local, Darleen Cheney, achieved a great result with second in the women’s Ultra race, trailing behind Jodie Willet.
