Mick Brown’s men went down two goals early on and, with ten players missing over both grades, were never in the contest according to the coach.
“The Rangers were fighting for a spot in the finals and they got off to a good lead. We did our best, despite having six under-18 players on the pitch,” he said.
Guys like Nick Brown and Sam Smith were able to gain some experience by playing up a grade, which is the only positive Brown could take from the day.
“They’ll be better for it next year, being able to play up in first grade with older guys,” he said.
“It was good to get a goal, despite being down by six at that stage, which shows we never gave up. They always keep trying.”
