Rydges’ area director of sales and marketing Kate Wood-Foye was a little star-struck when she posted photos of the movie legend meeting and greeting staff on Tuesday.
“It's been a pretty fabulous week at Rydges with some big announcements and special visitors. None more special than Oscar Winner Sir Anthony Hopkins - a total gentlemen who was genuine and friendly and took time to speak with all our team,” Kate said.
Sir Anthony slipped into Port Macquarie incognito for an overnight stay while he is in the country to film Thor with Cate Blanchett and Chris Hemsworth.
“He was travelling with his gorgeous wife Stella and dined with us at Zebu for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
“He was a true gentleman and lots of fun stopping to have photos with our so many of our team and lucky guests.
“Parissa and Ashleigh looked after him during service with Sir Anthony complimenting our chef on departure for our Zebu Crispy Skin salmon. He was lots of fun - insisting we call him Tony.
“What an honour to have him with us and to experience Port Macquarie hospitality - a personal favourite and certainly an experience I will never forget.”
The Welsh born actor is best known for his portrayal of Hannibal Lector in Silence of Lambs.
