An agreement between Port Macquarie-Hastings Council and regional jet aircraft provider JETGO has secured the deal
The new service will see passengers saving more than two hours on flights to Melbourne, landing at Melbourne’s Essendon Airport courtesy of 850km/h 36-seat Embraer ERJ-135LR regional jet aircraft.
Flights will go on sale this week, and are due to start on November 7, 2016 (subject to regulatory approval), with flight times of one hour and 45- minutes.
Flights will initially be on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays with the service hoping to increase to seven days a week as demand builds.
JETGO’s flights will operate to Melbourne’s Essendon Airport.
