The last month of football has been a tale of two different sides.
After spending the first half of the season at the top of the ladder the Tigers have slipped to second despite three wins from their past five.
The Breakers have arguably been more impressive, winning four of their last five.
They have scored more than 50 points in three of those matches.
Coach Digby Murray knows it is an important clash.
“Wingham were undefeated for a long time and we’ve performed well in the last couple of weeks,” he said.
An injured Kurt Lewis will be a key figure for the Tigers although Murray was confident in his side’s defending ability.
“He’s difficult to defend against because he’s so unpredictable,” he said.
Mitch Fowler, Dan Dumas, Korie Paio and Matt Woods will miss the game due to injury.
It takes the amount of players the coach has used to 49 for the season, but he was confident the Breakers would be able to overcome the loss of the quartet.
“To be able to sit in third position with the amount of players we’ve used is a fantastic effort so we’re in a really good space at the moment.”
After the tragic death of Jay Reynolds at the start of the week, his under 14 teammates will present the first grade side with their jumpers before the game.
“We want to help them get through this difficult time.”
