She will aim to repeat her winning dose at a Port Macquarie course which is in pristine condition.
However, she won’t have it all her own way.
Fifteen-year-old challenger Jihye Park from NSW Golf Club is believed by many to be the favourite for the ladies championship.
On Tuesday afternoon she teed off on the back nine at two under par.
Park is the youngest in the field and plays off a handicap of plus-two.
It is her first time competing at the Port Macquarie course and she was quietly confident of a good showing.
She had only had one practice hit on Monday to familiarise herself with the course layout.
Port Macquarie is a beautiful course.

“With the trees along the fairway it’s a similar set-up to Toukley where I spend a lot of my time,” she said.
“It’s a beautiful course.”
She said she was feeling positive after a solid front nine, but didn’t feel any added pressure as being the name on everyone’s lips as the name to take out the championship.
“I just focus on my golf and nothing else,” she said.
The women’s championship will conclude on Wednesday.
The men’s championships will start on Friday.
