In a massive coup for the region, some of the best motocross riders in the country will test themselves at the Hastings Valley track in July next year.
Hastings Valley Motorcycle Club president Daniel Hargy said the club would also host a round of the MX national series in 2018 and 2019.
It will see the best riders from around the country challenge themselves on the local track.
“There’s only 110-120 riders but they’re the best in Australia and the MX Nationals are the pinnacle of the motocross sport,” Hargy said.
The event is expected to bring more than 2,500 spectators and on average about $360,000 into the local community.
“It’s not just good for the motorcycle community, it’s good for the overall area as well,” Hargy said.
“We believe our complex is up there with the best in the country and it shows the powers-that-be believe in what we’re doing.”
We believe our complex is up there with the best.

Hargy said the event would be streamed into more than 100 countries around the world and it gave the budding motocross riders a chance to rub shoulders with the best in the sport.
“Every kid or adult is excited to come and watch it,” he said.
“It’s great for our young kids in the area to have these Australian champions at our track.”
Motocross can now be added to a list of events which have been brought to the Hastings region.
These include the junior and senior state cup touch football along with Junior Surfest and Ironman Australia.
The president admitted to being “overwhelmed” when the club was informed of the decision.
“It’s a great achievement for the Hastings Valley Motorcycle Club to host an event like this,” he said.
“It doesn’t just go anywhere around the country, you’ve got to be at a certain level to have it.
“It will give us better coverage and that’s a big thing.”
