Alana Green and Tara O’Brien shaved their heads on July 1 at the Settlers Inn pub, with the money being donated to Alana’s brother-in-law Matt, as well as the local cancer trust.
Matt is only 41 with a young family, so the money will have a huge impact on their lives as he undergoes treatment.
“Shaving our heads shows our commitment to the cause,” Tara said.
“If that means you have to take away your vanity just to be in the same situation as them then I’m fine with that.”
“It was a wonderful turn out, over 80 people attended. It was amazing to have such a great network of support,” Alana added.
