Paragliders promote tourism
I don’t understand why the paragliders offend a resident of Bonny Hills so.

In my opinion the paragliders promote tourism, as there is nothing nicer than watching the paragliders drift by Bonny Hills Caravan Park as the tourists partake of their evening drinks.
I have spoken to a member of the Mid North Coast Paragliders Club. He states that all participants are covered by public liability and risk insurances. Port Macquarie-Hastings Council would not let them function without adequate insurance.
I understand all these clubs have entered agreements with local councils so they are able to operate within safety guidelines. To suggest major damage to the headland and environment is unjustified and grossly exaggerated.
The latest tactic from this resident and associates in letterbox dropping in Bonny Hills against the MNC Paragliders Club has prompted my response. I have no affiliation with the MNC paragliders club, but I have been seeing them off Little Beach for years and I’m sure will see them for many years to come.

Loose-fill asbestos testing
These days, there’s a test for almost every health threat imaginable: mammograms; blood pressure checks; even bowel cancer screening kits you can mail in for testing.
But there’s one test you won’t read about in a doctor’s waiting room, and it could save your life. Loose-fill asbestos testing is being offered by the State Government for free until August 1 across more than 60 local government areas, in a bid to eradicate the threat from New South Wales homes.
I deal with the effects of asbestos-related disease every day in my job – it is an invisible killer; a ticking time-bomb with no cure that only shows symptoms after it’s too late. Taking up the government’s free loose-fill asbestos testing offer will save you more than $1000, but could also potentially save you and your family’s lives.
Register before it’s too late: www.loosefillasbestos.nsw.gov.au or call 13 77 88.
