WEDNESDAY night saw the culmination of Season 1 of 2016 for the senior men's and women's leagues at the Port Macquarie Basketball stadium.

In the women's competition, the NFI team featuring a mix of senior and junior players proved too strong with good outside shooting from the Gee sisters.
They took down the Kalateenee team from Kempsey 45-32.
In A-Grade men's the Tropics team defeated the season-leading Windmills 38-26.
In the A-Reserve final, minor premiers Screaming Eagles were too strong for the Black & Gold Geckos 55-27 with strong contributions from juniors Max Newell and Sam Petrie.
The B-grade final was a hotly contested game.
In the end, the youngsters were too strong with big contributions from Isaac Post and deadly outside shooting from Alex Lister ensured they ran away with the game 48-35.
In the junior finals, the 5/6 boys competition was played out between the Wombats and Port Power, with the Power team winning 38-29.
The boys 7/8 competition came down to a game of runs between both teams with the Rockets eventually coming out on top over the Port Power team 34-29.
The girls high school competition featured another very close and entertaining final with the Cool Cats beating Whirlwinds 37-32.
And the final game of the night saw the Los Pollos Hermanos team, featuring a strong last quarter to defeat the Kings team by 39-32 and take out the year 9/10 boys competition.
Nominations are being taken now for Season 2 which will run for the second half of the year beginning on July 20 and running through to November.
