Outgoing president Colin Steber went out on a particularly high note.
He was elected “Toastmaster of the Year” by his fellow club members – for the third year in a row.
He is also going on to be area director for the four clubs in this region: Taree, Forster and the two clubs in Port Macquarie.
Mr Steber said Taree was named a “distinguished Toastmasters Club”, which meant it had fulfilled a range of requirements including increase in membership.
“We’re pleased because a year ago we declared that this would be our year of growth,” he said
He has been succeeded as Taree Club president by Leo Bushell, one of the club’s longest term members.
Taree Toastmasters Club is one of the oldest continuous Toastmasters clubs in Australia. Its meeting are always full of laughter, fun, support and friendship.
