Crawley finished at the top of the leaderboard with the four fish limit and his total bag weight of 3.15 kg.
Tournament organisers said the bag sizes of four Bream for the round were light, they still saw bags with kilofish at the top of the leader board.
Included in Crawley’s bag weight was a 1.18kg “Big Bream”.
The secret to Crawley’s success came from a simple Google Earth search to find out where the fish had been biting recently.
It took him to the man-made structures of Limeburner’s Creek are complemented with plenty of natural structure.
“Even though I only caught I think twelve fish all day, it was enough to take out the comp,” Crawley said.
He enjoyed the Hastings location so much that he is already making plans to return.
“This place is awesome and I can’t wait to come back.”
