The inaugural performance of Port Macquarie's own Absolutely Everybody choir from the School of Hard Knocks drew a large crowd to Tacking Point Public School, and the group’s unique mix of enthusiasm and spontaneity had the audience enthralled.
Equally impressive were the more experienced choristers from Kala Rava, and the sublime sounds and hilarious politically incorrectness of the Blokes Notes fellas.
The Absolutely Everybody group first got together in February 2016, when locals who might be experiencing physical or mental health conditions, unemployment or other disadvantage were invited to come together in a unique, musically-based community project.
Tuesday night’s concert, produced by the incomparable Marie Van Gend, was the first of what may well be a musical, life-changing journey for all involved.
The massed-choir finale brought forward a sea of smiles on the stage and in the audience.
Congratulations to all involved.
