The club hosted its ninth annual Classic Cruise and Show n Shine at Westport Park in March this year and have continued their partnership with Port Macquarie SES.
Port Macquarie SES were onsite during the day to provide a road safety message and demonstrate a motor vehicle rescue complete with simulated casualties.
Hastings Old Holdens Club President Wayne Webber said is is the fourth year the club has partnered with Port Macquarie SES.
“We have previously donated items such as a moulage kit to create realistic looking injuries, GPS enabled digital cameras to record incidents and land search kits to assist with searching for missing people,” he said.
Proceeds raised at this year’s event have been used to purchase and donate a Simulaids Adult Rescue Manikin.
This manikin was procured by Bago Safety Solutions in Wauchope and is fully articulated and correctly weighted to a provide a realistic casualty for rescue scenario training and can be used in situations such as car crash, bush searches and water recovery.
It comes complete with holes for realistic penetrating injuries and airway systems to enable CPR training to be undertaken.
SES Deputy Unit Controller Rescue Michael Ward said the manikin will enable the SES to undertake realistic rescue training to improve and maintain the high level of skills of its members.
“The support over the years from Hastings Old Holdens is greatly appreciated and we look forward to partnering with them into the future,” he said.
Next year’s Classic Cruise and Show n Shine will be held onMarch 25, 2017.
