We enjoyed our morning helping to plant native plants and learning some great gardening tips from all the volunteers.
The area once contained colourful flower beds, walkways, a pond and a waterfall powered by a windmill.
The garden was a great attraction to both locals and visitors. Unfortunately, the gardens could not be maintained and became overgrown over the years.
Now, the Friends of Mrs York’s Garden volunteers are turning it into a beautiful place once again.
They work there every Wednesday, planting shrubs and native plants as well as mulching.
A new path with stairs is currently being built and we look forward to the outdoor learning area which will be constructed soon.
