They were at Port City Bowling Club on Wednesday as part of the Australian Blind Bowling Championships.
It was the first time the club had hosted championships for visually impaired bowlers.
They both admitted it is a challenging process, but one which required communication as to how to get the bowl down the other end.
“It’s all about trying to put into place what directions you are told when you step up to the mat,” Pomroy said.
Port City bowls coordinator Phil Baker said watching 80 bowlers and directors from all over the country ply their trade was inspiring.
“It’s just incredible and inspirational to see these people not let being blind stop them from playing sport,” he said.
“It’s great to have them here.”
The championships go for nine days and will wrap up on June 9.
