Discover Engineering will take place at St Columba Anglican school from 6pm until 8.30pm.
It is held in several regional locations throughout the Newcastle Division and is aimed at encouraging young people to take up an exciting career in engineering.
These events are used to explain what engineers do, giving those thinking about a career in the field some food for thought.
These events give students the opportunity to talk to 'real' engineers and find out what engineering is about and what a career in engineering looks like for both females and males.
Representatives from a number of Universities will be on hand to answer any questions regarding tertiary study.
These events will be aimed at parents, students and teachers which will highlight the importance of math, science and technology literacy.
It is hoped that by doing so it will motivate youth to pursue engineering careers in order to provide a diverse and vigorous engineering workforce.
