ON Friday, a police officer in Centennial Park, Sydney, was in the process of arresting a man for alleged drug possession when he was dragged three metres by a car as the offender tried to escape.

After further investigation, Port Macquarie police were asked to attend a unit on Settlement Point Rd in relation to the incident and the whereabouts of the offender.
Police allege a 51-year-old Port Macquarie man threw objects out of a window and then tried to escape from the same window.
The officers gained entry and, after a struggle with the accused, he was arrested and taken to Port Macquarie Police Station.
The property thrown from the window included a bumbag. It was later retrieved from a neighbour’s roof. There was allegedly 24 grams of cannabis in four resealable plastic bags inside.
The man was charged with possessing prohibited drug, not complying with direction given by police officer, assaulting an officer in execution of duty, driving in a manner dangerous and resisting an officer in execution of duty.
He was granted conditional bail at court to appear at the Port Macquarie Local Court on June 22.
Stolen goods seized
POLICE pulled a driver over for the purpose of a random breath test on Saturday in Azalea Ave, Wauchope.
Police said the driver of the 2002 white Ford Falcon sedan was driving erratically into. The 31-year-old female driver was spoken to and returned a negative reading.
The driver, along with two passengers, were asked to exit the car while police conducted a search.
Police allegedly located four items of clothing from a Port Macquarie sports store that had security tags and labels still attached.
The Wauchope driver was issued with a court attendance notice to appear at the Port Macquarie Local Court.
School graffiti attack
POLICE are calling for witnesses to provide information about a graffiti attack on a Port Macquarie public school.
The offender used a spray can to graffiti the school sometime on Thursday night.
