Scottish born David Gray performs as Don Henley in The Best of The Eagles but doesn't bring forth his brogue when he sings.
He has trained himself to have the husky tones of Don Henley and has played tribute concerts as the famous drummer to audiences across the United Kingdom and Europe.
The show is presented by an Australian company and Gray had to audition via Skype.
He toured New Zealand as a drummer with Kenny Whizz, who is a Michael Jackson impersonator, but this is his first tour to Australia.
"I come from Glasgow and it rains all the time," Gray says.
He transplanted his family to the Gold Coast in January to rehearse for the current tour.
"I have friends all over Australia and I am really enjoying seeing the country, the sunshine and catching up with them."
The self taught vocalist says the first part of the tribute show celebrates 40 years since the release of the seminal The Eagles album Hotel California.
The album is performed in its entirety with such well known hits as Hotel California, New Kid in Town and Life in the Fast Lane.
Hotel California was the fifth studio album from the American rockers and became their biggest studio album selling more than 32 million copies worldwide.
Gray says there also is a tribute to the late great Glenn Frey in the first half of the show.
The band dress in similar outfits to The Eagles and Gray says their aim is to have the audience think they are watching The Eagles on stage.
"As far as I can tell, this is the first show in Australia with an actual Don Henley impersonator who does all the things Don does, play guitar, drums and sing lead vocals.
"There's loads of bands that just play Eagles songs, but that's just playing covers."
The rest of the guys in the show are all Australian and also had to audition for their roles.
"The bass player has played with John Farnham, the Choirboys and Jon English, so it's a great crew," Gray says.
There is some story telling about how songs came about and background on The Eagles members.
With six Grammy Awards, six No.1 albums and five No.1 singles, The Eagles were one of the most successful bands of all time.
Part two of the captivating show features the brilliant band's greatest rock classics Take it Easy, Take It to the Limit, Desperado, Heartache Tonight, Tequila Sunrise, Best of My Love and many more.
One of Henley's songs Gray finds the most difficult to sing is Wasted Time.
"It's very challenging. One of my favourites is Take it to the Limit - it's such a classic.
"We've been working really hard and it's an honour to represent the talents of such an iconic band."
