SLICE of Haven's 'Magic beyond the Plate' theme is set to play out on Sunday May 29, thanks to right mix of food, entertainment and family fun.
"It's not just about tickling tastebuds; it's about keeping things fresh and adding new layers of interest and texture to the event every year," said festival spokesperson, Kerry McFadyen.
While a collection of local cafes and food producers serve up their favourites, and the fine wines and boutique beers flow, an eclectic bunch of entertainers, of every shape and size, will be on hand to keep festival-goers entertained.
Magicians, Jay Scott Berry - the Virtuoso of Magic - and Magic Jake, will not only thrill visitors with their incredible routines, they will also roam through the crowd, surprising young and old with their raucous, random tricks.
The dancers from Movement Studios always impress, with their creative routines and colourful costumes. After last year's spectacular "seniors" flashmob, all eyes will be on dance studio boss Jo Rowan and her talented team.
Live music fans will also enjoy the chance to move and groove to the fine sounds of local bands Elk and Ghost Road.
The task of winning hearts and creating smiles will be left to the enchanting Bago Magic cast and crew, who are making their first appearance at Slice of Haven. Their magical performance of Peter Pan will be a real highlight.
For that essential Slice of Haven dash of quirky, musicians from CHUMS (Camden Haven Ukelele Musicians) will strum and hum in their own unique way.
Add to that live cooking demonstrations, celebrity chefs, a special children's area and plenty of spaces to eat and drink it all in, and this festival serves up something for everyone.
Stallholders have fingers crossed for a beautiful day.
"Regardless of the weather, the atmosphere is always just incredible - or should I say 'magical'," Kerry McFadyen said.
The Slice of Haven food and wine festival will take place from 10am on Sunday May 29, 2016 at the river foreshore precinct, behind the Laurieton United Services Club.
