PORT Saints coach Mark Rogers acknowledges his side will have its work cut out when Wallis Lake come to Findlay Park tomorrow.
Saints have a win and a loss heading into the round three encounter while Lake only has a point to show from its first two games.
"They've been a benchmark club for a couple of years whether that's first or reserve grade, but we always play our best football when we play them," Rogers said.
"They always bring a high standard of football and we need to make sure we match that."
Saints opened the season with successive matches on the road which started with a 4-2 victory at Camden Haven before they hit a speed bump last week in Taree.
"I want the players to respond from last week and being our first home game I'm excited about it and I'm sure they are too," Rogers said.
The Saints coach was confident of an improved performance from his side back in its home surrounds.
"We're playing in the premier league so you have to believe in what you're doing, but you have to bring the energy as well."
Question marks remain over the fitness of Aaron Oppedisano who missed training earlier in the week along with Mick Snow although Rogers said he was hopeful he would be able to select the same side as last week.
"We've got a few new players who are settling into our style of play after a couple of games so it will be good to hopefully pick the same side," he said.
Rogers didn't feel it was a case of his side "bouncing back" this week, but conceded they were a little bit off the pace in the first two games.
He wanted more from up front.
"I'm looking for anyone in the front three, whether that's Aaron, Smee or Jacob to take their chances," he said.
