Our Rural Fire Service volunteers and all emergency services personnel are fully prepared for what is going to be one of our most precarious fire seasons in recent times.
Whilst these heroic people are prepared to risk life and limb to save ours, we must also understand the things we can do to help keep them safe.
The best advice they can give is that “the middle of a bush fire is no time to start thinking about what you should do”.
Prepare your own bush fire survival plan and don’t think your house is safe – complacency is equally dangerous.
Prepare your home or property according to standards set out in one of our major fire agency websites and make sure your family are informed and aware of the plan – include the pets in that plan, too.
