CAMDEN Haven and Port Panthers Pirates will kick off the 20th edition of the Beechwood Sevens on Sunday.
Drummond Golf will then face Wauchope RSL before defending champions Port City Leagues Magpies clash with Comboyne and the loser of all of those games bows out.
Organiser Darren McCudden said they had an even bigger event planned for their 21st birthday although there will be a few new rules during this year's tournament as they aim to keep the competition fresh and exciting.
One of those changes involves the batting side nominating an over during their innings where runs are worth double.
"At the start of the innings they pick an over they're using as a super over and tell the umpire. It remains a secret until the over is about to be bowled with the bowler at the top of his mark," McCudden said.
"You could be lucky and get me or you could be unlucky and get Jesse Schmidt or Badenoch."
Another rule change will force batsmen to retire at 50.
Port City Leagues Magpies remain the favourites for the competition although McCudden said Wauchope RSL appeared to have a strong side and Beechwood could surprise.
"We've got a young side who will run all day and that's pretty important in this format," he said.
"There's nowhere to hide in the field and they can all bat."
Also included in the day will be the longest throw and nearest the pin competition along with the annual 100-metre sprint with Kade Fens hoping to back up from last year's win.
The most inspirational junior will be presented with the Brett Border trophy while the Judy Fowler Memorial Player of the Tournament will also be on offer for the day.
"We hope it's going to be a ripsnorter of a day," McCudden said.
