And both come into the 457m 4th-5th Grade in winning form.
Smoking Oaks (Oaks Road-Solve The Title) was bred and is raced and trained by Ricky Taffe at Brombin.
He boasts the impressive record of 32 starts for 14 wins and 10 placings.
Cundle Jim, raced and trained by Mick Mcguire at Cundletown, is a son of Brumby Lad-Cundle Miss and boasts 15 wins and 18 placings in his 63-start career.
Taffe is confident with Smoking Oaks. "I have the greatest respect for Cundle Jim and it will be a very good race on Saturday night," Taffe said.
"But Cundle Jim is probably much better drawn over near the rails."
Smoking Oaks has the three box and Cundle Jim will jump from the seven on Saturday night a box Smoking Oaks virtually lives in.
"If you check his race career," Taffe said of Smoking Oaks, "you will see he has started 11 times from box seven. He almost goes straight to that rug when I get him out of the kennels on race night."
Smoking Oaks was dragged down from behind when about to run to the front at the first turn in a race at Wentworth Park four starts back.
He has won his three races since, two at Taree and one at Kempsey the latest on January 30.
But Cundle Jim has won two of his past three and he went close to the track record when winning there on January 30.
At Wauchope, Smoking Oaks has won five and Cundle Jim only three but their winning best over 457m is almost identical.
Taffe said he would head back to The Gardens with Smoking Oaks after he runs at Wauchope tomorrow.
The littermates have won 32 races in the past eight months for Taffe.
Star of the kennel is She Is Diamonds the winner of 13 races. She is currently on season.
