"To see people snap up the tickets to this festival every year is such a testament to the strength of Australia's love for live music," said festival director Simon Luke. Now in its eleventh year, the Festival of the Sun boasts it biggest line up and a bonus art show the day before.
Headliners Illy, Aussie rock favourites Jebediah and British India, and up-and-coming acts such as Waax, The Lulu Raes and Ziggy Alberts will give festivalgoers a blast of rock from midday on December 11 - rain, hail or shine.
"I've always seen Fotsun as a great vehicle for showcasing the country's best live talent in a truly unique location. Having such strong support year after year makes me extremely proud to be a part of Australia's music culture.
"We can't thank the supporters and the bands enough for being a part of the experience and we're so excited to show everyone what we have planned for this year and the future."
For the first time Wabi Sabi, translated from Japanese as nothing lasts forever, will add an element of pop culture to the pre-festival atmosphere on Thursday, December 10 with resident artist Sigh Luxton.
"Wabi Sabi delivers a visually artistic element, welcoming a range of pop-up workshops, street art, sand sculpting and food stalls to satisfy any taste," Mr Luke said. "Ultimately, Wabi Sabi allows punters to let out their inner creativity in a fun and relaxed atmosphere."
Other bands include Thundamentals, The Delta Riggs, Alpine, Bad Dreems, Sleep Makes Waves, Ecca Vandal, Northeast Party House, Harts, Bootleg Rascal, Tired Lion, The Fumes, The Belligerents, Animaux, Major Leagues, Le Pie, Ivan Ooze and Triple J Unearthed winners Mar Haze.
