Egg labelling is an area of uncertainty for consumers and egg producers as there is no national binding definition for free-range eggs in Australia.
Fair Trading Commissioner Rod Stowe said the visit to Wauchope's Oxhill Organics was fascinating.
"It was great for us to speak to some people involved in free-range egg farming and see how they operate," he said.
Fair Trading's visit to Port Macquarie to mark Fair Trading Week, and the light on consumer issues, drew to a close on Friday.
Fun Fact: the average Australian consumes 220 eggs a year.
