The new regional non-profit event focuses on being healthy and mindful. It will take place at the Glasshouse on Sunday, October 11 from 8.30am until 5.30pm.
The goal of the festival is to bring teachers, students and the community together to learn and share a variety of yoga philosophies and styles.
Denis Juelicher is the organiser of the Ekam Yoga Festival and said the region has a rich yoga community.
"The festival will be a day of learning, relaxation and inspiration," she said.
"It's definitely something that is booming. We have so many people interested in the yoga and living healthy.
"I'm not really sure what has created the social change about healthy living, but there are a lot of topics in the media about it and it seems to be more on the forefront of people's consciousness."
It's run by Random Acts of Yoga which is not-for-profit and is highly supported by the Port Macquarie Hastings Council.
"It came about because of the increased interest in natural health and yoga in this area," Denis said.
"A lot of people are unable to travel away to attend festivals like this, which happen mainly in capital cities, so it's great to be able to offer this festival to regional people."
Apart from the enormous growth in people who participate in yoga, Port Macquarie is such an ideal place for the festival with its tranquil scenery and wonderful weather.
One of Australia's most respected and experienced teachers, John Ogilvie, will present a Purna Yoga master class at the festival.
Tickets are available online at www.ekamyogafestival.org.au for $98 which allows admission to four festival sessions.
Between session times, ticket holders are able to attend any talks and explore the Natural Health and Sustainable Living Expo.
