A six person committee - Jennifer Mullin, Clive Smith, Trysha Hanly, Wendy Anson, Brian Panisset and Gwen Grimmond - worked behind the scenes to organise the NSW & ACT Association of Family History Societies Annual Conference.
The weekend conference at Port Macquarie Panthers attracted 224 delegates.
Convener Jennifer Mullin said everyone was enthused by the speakers.
"The feedback was very positive," she said. "You could feel the devotion our committee had."
The NSW & ACT Association of Family History Societies fosters an interest in family history and represents the views of its member societies in matters of state, national and international genealogical interests.
The Port Macquarie & Districts Family History Society also hosted the Journey of Discovery Family History Fair before the conference.Ancestry.com Australia and New Zealand content manager Ben Mercer spoke about the value of the ever evolving website and outlined its new content.
"It is a starting point for your family history journey," he said.
"You can do lots of your genealogy in your front room in your pyjamas but remember you should be going to your local society, your local archives and making sure you take advantage of their knowledge."
