Between September 12 and 18, Where's William? Week will be recognised across the country with a community event at Kendall Showground to kick things off.
The showground featured as the heart of the search and command centre for Strike Force Rosann in the days that followed William's disappearance.
Volunteers from across the region registered at the centre, were marshalled and briefed while other volunteers provided food and drink which had been generously donated to help sustain the searchers.
Between 1pm and 3.30pm on September 12 residents of Benaroon Drive, members of the Kendall and surrounding communities, ambulance paramedics, firefighters from Fire & Rescue NSW, Rural Fire Service volunteers, SES and Surf Lifesaving volunteers are invited to the special event at the showground.
Hetty Johnston AM, CEO, Founder of Bravehearts Inc., and spokesperson for the Where's William? campaign, said it would provide an opportunity for William's family to show their thanks.
"William's family want to show their deep and sincere gratitude to everyone who helped in the search for William and acknowledge the tremendous love and community spirit shown for their little boy and his family," she said.
"This special event will provide the hundreds of searchers and community members with the opportunity to reflect on their strength of spirit and their tremendous effort in the search for William, the little boy in the Spider Man suit.
"It will also be a poignant reminder to everyone that little William is still missing; that we must not give up hope; that we must continue the search and never give up looking until we find William and bring him home."
Where's William? Rribbons will also be available from various shops on the mid-north coast in support of William's family's campaign to help police find their little boy and bring him home.
One of the highlights of the event will be a very special performance by the Kendall Public School Choir singing 'Bring Him Home' - the official Where's William? Campaign theme song selected by William's family.
There will be a raffle, food, drinks, and free activities for children to enjoy and the family have also arranged for the donation of special lucky door prizes for adults and children to say a special thank you to this wonderful community.
"During Where's William? Week we hope that the people of the mid-north coast will join us in continuing to raise awareness of William by displaying the campaign posters and the campaign colours (red and blue) throughout the community as a reminder that William needs to be found and brought home," Ms Johnston said. All Australians are invited to host a 'Tea 4 William Tyrrell' at work and in their communities, download and display posters and flyers and purchase Where's William? T-shirts, baseball caps and ribbons from www.whereswilliam.org.
