The school hosted its first Upbeat Music Festival and by all accounts it was a resounding success with slip and slides, a live band and colour run all featuring on the menu of fun.
Publicity committee member and year 11 student Marni Kennedy said the effort from everyone on the day ensured the second instalment of the festival would be even better next year.
She acknowledged the bar had been set high and the colour run aspect of the day was without doubt the highlight.
"Some of the seniors said they were really happy they came for the day because they weren't sure if they should. It's that sort of attitude which makes this school what it is," she said.
"It was great to see the college community come together, to both have some fun and do their part for mental health and we didn't know what to expect, but it met those expectations."
Fellow committee member Taylor LoMonaco said it was a long day, but an enjoyable one.
"It's really hard to be tired when you have such an awesome energy around the place," she said.
"The music was really good from local bands, the atmosphere was good and it took a while to warm up, but we got there. We both have even bigger plans for next year already."
Teacher Penny McKee said the day ensured the students all got to know each other a little better.
"With a day like this the kids have this sense of freedom and it's a sign they're having a lot of fun when you look around and they're just all dirty. I'm not sure their parents will be thanking us though," she laughed.
Year nine student Jye Geronimi spoke for most of the students when he said it made a normal school day even more appealing.
"We should have it every year," he said.
And it looks like he will get his wish.
