The classmates and teachers were treated to a hands-on reptile show, got up close and personal with some friendly koalas and watched giant crocodile Shrek chomp down his lunch, among many other things.
They were also afforded the opportunity to pat dingoes and see the wild life Australia has to offer, including kangaroos, emus, wombats and penguins.
Yurika Iwakawa, Ryoma Nakae and Shiori Nagasaka excitedly posed for photos with a koala and were clearly having the time of their lives.
“The koala is very cute and very soft,” they said. “We cannot wait to see the reptiles and the very big crocodile.”
During their time in Australia the students have visited the Port Macquarie-Hastings Council chambers and enjoyed a big barbecue at Settlement Point on Sunday with their host families from St Columba Anglican School.
“I loved the big barbecue, it was my favourite thing that I have done so far,” said student Shiori Nagasaka.
“We also went to the Bago Winery and played in the big maze. We fed some horses which was very good.”
