Page trails Grant Trask by 100 points, and needs to beat him in all four races to claim his second straight formula triumph in the class.
Even if the pair finished fifth or sixth, as long as Page was higher in the standings, he would take victory.
A win would add to Page’s impressive tally. He was victorious in the formula two class in 2011 and 2013, and won the optimax in 2014.
He’s relaxed and ready to race this weekend, and Page is hard to beat on the Hastings River.
“They all say I’m a hard bugger to beat at home,” he said.
Page hasn’t seen a weather forecast for the weekend yet.
It’s not like he’ll be worried about it anyway, with all drivers having to compete in the same conditions.
“It will be what it will be,” he said.
Adding to Page’s big weekend is the memorial race for his son, Andrew. That will be on Sunday afternoon.
McInherney Park is the headquarters for the drivers this weekend.
