Port Macquarie women's captain Glenys Cummings said ball placement was key to doing well at Port Macquarie's flagship event.
"If you can keep the ball on the fairway, you're laughing," Cummings said.
"You have to know where to place your ball."
It's a tough course, and a long one, and its condition couldn't be better for the tournament.
The course is in fantastic nick, and the players who play on Tuesday and Wednesday should reap the benefits.
"We're really lucky with this course," Cummings said.
"It drains really well. We never lose days to rain.
"The guys [course superintendent Steve Brennan and his crew] do a fantastic job."
Stroke play and stableford formats are played over Tuesday and Wednesday.
Cummings tipped Wauchope's Jane Horne to do well again this year in the Morgans sponsored Classic.
Horne plays off a two handicap.
"She's a good, steady player," Cummings said.
