It's the annual Kendall Blues Charity day, this year raising funds for local causes Give Me 5 For Kids and burn victim Bowdi Latham.
Give Me 5 raises funds for the children's ward in local hospitals.
Bowdi Latham is a former Camden Haven lad, now living in Canberra. He suffered burns to 76 per cent of his body after a horrific gas explosion at his home earlier this year.
Bowdi's fighting spirit saw him beat the odds and survive the accident, but with many surgeries and rehabilitation in the future, the community is rallying to ease the financial burden for Bowdi and his parents Samantha and David (Nibs) Latham.
Kendall Blues will host the charity day at the Kendall Showground.
Junior rugby league will kick off the day at 9am.
Comboyne Tigers will take on the Harrington Hurricanes at 1pm then Kendall Blues face Lake Cathie/Bonny Hills Raiders at 3pm. The game ball, a Brisbane Broncos football (Bowdi's favourite team) will be flown to the senior game in the arms of a sky diver.
The Blues will wear purple jerseys for the day which will be auctioned that night.
On ground there will be a Dash For Cash, full bar and canteen facilities with a jumping castle and face painting for the kids.
From 6pm the community is invited to join the players at the Royal Kew Hotel for a night of raffles, auctions, entertainment and a men's and women's head shave. Three hairy blokes will also sacrifice their beards to bolster funds.
So far four brave souls have raised their heads to be publicly "restyled" - John Barr, Alex Pearce, Gary Turnbull and Renae Bignell.
Renae, teacher, soccer player and wife of Blues lock/front rower Jake Bignell, said being involved in the shave will tick an item off her bucket list.
"I've always wanted to shave my head for charity," Renae told the Courier.
"I mentioned it a few months ago to other Kendall Blues wives and girlfriends and then I had Rheannon Chapman (Blues committee member) on the phone getting me involved in the charity day.
"It's a good opportunity to raise money. The kids at MacKillop College (where Renae is a teacher) are slowly finding out about it and are keen to help out."
Renae revealed Jake will support her by also being part of the shave-off (as newly-weds do).
As a key player for the Camden Haven Redbacks ladies soccer team, Renae isn't looking forward to playing with her new "do."
"It's going to be freezing and heading the ball is going to hurt a bit more," she said.
