There are now a number of tournaments between now and the State Cup so sides have plenty of opportunities and time to sort out combinations and game plans.
These tournaments are helpful for country teams who don’t have the benefit of the city teams playing in the highly competitive Vawdon Cup.
Last Wednesday saw one sided scores right across the board for the first time this season. Usually most games are fairly close but that went out the window.
The Injectables 9 defeated Bell’s Furniture One 1, the Mud Runners 8 d Confident Cleaning 2, Coast2Coast 10 d Hastings Physio 1, The Untouchables 5 d ASN Port Macquarie 0, Mantra Quayside 7 d Swamp Monkeys 4, CD Bathrooms 6 d PDD Advisory 2 and Telstra Port Central 12 d the Beach House 1.
The following players in particular gave the scorers plenty of work, with Chris Soo, Brendan Hogan, Jack Lewis and Wayne Gleeson all scoring three while Telstra Port Central’s Scott Hammond blew everyone away, crossing for six sensational tries.
On Wednesday we’ll see the NSW Blues blow Queensland off Suncorp Stadium so to make sure everyone will be home in plenty of time to witness the massacre, games will be shortened.
First game starts at 6pm and second game at 6.30pm so players and referees please take note so all runs smoothly.
All the best until next week and remember, keep in touch.
