If you have a passion for sustainability and the natural abundance of produce found in the Hastings, you are invited to create a design which could grace one million compostable coffee cups in 2016.
Thanks to Tastings on Hastings event sustainability partner BioPak and local distributor Doppio or Nothing Espresso, the top 10 designs will be sent to BioPak headquarters in Sydney to select the winner.
The announcement of the top design will be made at the Tastings on Hastings Love Food Hate Waste cooking demonstration with Matt Moran on Saturday, November 7.
The winning Hastings artist will be named on the cup and the design featured on the BioPak website alongside other Australian and New Zealand designs.
Tastings on Hastings event coordinator Necia Waghorn said the Biocup Art Series competition welcomed all mediums and genres.
"We're giving professional and emerging local artists, and everyone with a creative urge, an opportunity to submit designs inspired by the magnificence and splendor of the local region," Ms Waghorn said.
"Tastings on Hastings celebrates the region's finest locally grown produce, and as such the artwork should reflect positive images of nature-inspired food sustainability on the Mid North Coast."
The top 20 entries will be on display at the Hay Street forecourt on Tuesday, August 4 and at the Port Macquarie Library from Wednesday, Aug ust 5 until Saturday, Aug ust 29, and on the Tastings on Hastings website.
Everyone is encouraged to vote for their favourite artwork online or at the displays.
Design guidelines and the entry form are available at www.tastingsonhastings. com.au/biocupcomp
Entries close on July 30.
