That dream could become a reality with the 24-year-old selected in the final 70 of the reality show NRL Rookie.
"I just saw the application for the show and I thought I may as well go for it," he said.
"It's my last crack at making the NRL so I put together a video to see how it would go."
Needless to say it went well. The video was viewed and shared on social media thousands of times.
As he has made the final 70 he will now head to Jubilee Oval on Tuesday morning where the group will be put through their paces.
From there the producers of the show will choose 44 players and eventually cull that to the final 16 that will appear on the highly anticipated show.
Although he has already made it a remarkably long way there are tough times ahead for Gore, but the young gun remains confident.
"I'm taking it very seriously and I'm pretty confident so hopefully I can get through to the next round and onto the show," he said.
"To get a contract with an NRL show would be something I've always dreamed of."
Gore has been a standout for the Port Sharks for many seasons with his powerful running game, lightning speed and silky skills a highlight.
He grew up idolising Andrew Johns and Brett Stewart and hopes to channel them that into his game when he attends Jubilee Oval on Tuesday morning.
"Those two I've really loved watching and drawn inspirations from," he said.
"I'm keen for Tuesday morning. They are making us do 15 minutes of fitness, straight into a one kilometre run and then five 12 minute obstacles.
"It will be a big test of fitness but I'm confident because I know I'm really fit."
The final 44 will be split into two teams of 22 players who will square off in a chance to impress and gain selection on the show.
