FANTASY Glades' history is a long and involved one. It is now, almost, an abandoned one.

Back in 2002, the Port News reported on the impending closure of the much-loved tourist attraction after 35 years of creating many a childhood memory.
Crowds doubled in the lead-up to the school holidays and the eventual closure and even then an auction of all the attraction's equipment has been put "on hold" following news that unnamed interests might buy everything with a view to opening another park on another site.
Even the day after the park was closed for the last time it was reported a new buyer was lined up to build a new park within the next 18 months, on a new site in Port Macquarie.
It never quite came to fruition.
In December 2013, the owners - Shane and Karen Hay - put the park back on the market.
Oh, there's been interest and global publicity, but still the 1.5 hectare property remains unsold.
The Hays granted Urbexography permission to capture the now closed Fantasy Glades only recently.
In the words of the photographer: "Fantasy Glades was an absolutely magical, special place for many people including myself as a child and also my children when they were little.
"It has been visited and enjoyed by numerous families from all around the world since 1968 when it first opened. Fantasy Glades is a hidden piece of paradise in one of Australia's best locations and is currently up for sale for the right person to re-create its previous magic."
