Some injuries were picked up last week when the side played the Southern Cross University Marlins.
Skipper Andrew West is one of the players unavailable nursing a nasty dislocated elbow.
Former Australian deaf team captain and new signing for the Vikings, Dave Kearsey has soft tissue damage around his ribs.
Meanwhile league convert Ethan Hyde was given until last night to prove his fitness after a back complaint.
Ben Pursell will return to the forwards and Country representative Adam McCormack will be back after a week off to lead the team.
Despite the injuries, coach Andrew Kable is positive those called to fill in will get the job done.
"I'm really happy with our depth this year," Kable said.
"The likes of Bryce Clay who got man of the match last week in reserve grade will line up in firsts this week.
"He just keeps getting better and better since he came back to play."
As far as his opponents this weekend, Kable said they were a bit of an unknown.
"I haven't seen them play since round one," he said.
"They scored an impressive victory last week against Kempsey.
"They're finding their feet as a team with a lot of new players but its always a tough grinding game against the Pirates.
"But hopefully first and reserve grade can continue their unbeaten runs."
The game kicks off at 3pm tomorrow at the Pirates' home ground, Stuart Park.
