The weather certainly didn't dampen the girls' spirits, nor their amazing get-ups as many teams participated in the crazy hair and sock day with proceeds going to the The Kids Cancer Project.
There was some fantastic efforts from the players along with their coaches, raising a fabulous total of $1061.50. Well done to all teams who donned their fancy socks and way out hair dos.
Sunday was another representative team carnival day.
Hastings Valley sent nine teams along, both junior and senior, to contest this big competition hosted by Coffs Harbour Netball Association.
Teams from associations up and down the coast as well as from over the mountain spent the day at the Coffs Harbour Netball complex, honing their skills and team work as they work towards either the State Championships in Wollongong for our senior teams and several large netball complexes in Sydney for our junior teams.
HVNA's 17s and 40s participated on Sunday with both coaches, Helen Miles and Stephanie Fraser doing some final team adjustments ready for the June long weekend.
There, they will battle with other associations from across the state.
Hastings Valley offers a development team for girls aged 11, 12 and 13 years.
These girls are coached separately from their club teams and are able to participate in local representative carnivals.
Four of our development teams also participated on Sunday at Coffs Harbour carnival with coaching staff very pleased at the improvement of their players.
This year, with their newly designed development team singlets, not only did they play well, but they looked pretty good doing it.
Congratulations to the development teams. Their last carnival day will be Sunday at Macleay District Netball Association.
