Ibby Khodary and Michael Bishop scored goals for Saints as they twice went ahead over the Barbarians at Findlay Park, but Old Bar still managed to come away with something out of the game.
Saints had a big week, with a thrashing of Port FC, but team manager Mark Rogers wasn't making excuses.
"We created chances, but unlike Tuesday night, we didn't take them," he said.
"We weren't without chances, that's for sure."
Khodary got Saints going after about 15 minutes with a penalty, but an Old Bar header gave the visitors parity.
They'd had a couple of corners before finally putting one into the goal.Saints came out fired up after the break, and scored about two minutes into the second 45.
Coach Tony Judge had spoken to his players about making things difficult for visiting teams, and the speech seemed to work straight away.
"They were all revved up," Rogers said.
"We tried to come out with some more intent."
But Old Bar had another goal left in it. A free kick from a long way out snuck in under the crossbar.
Rogers wasn't concerned about not getting a win.
"Sometimes you play better than that and lose," he said.
Bishop's strike in the second half was fantastic.
Khodary ducked out of the way and the ball snuck into the corner of the net.
"It turned out to be a very good leave," Rogers said.
