UPDATED: It was traffic chaos on the Oxley Highway earlier this morning after a woman was trapped in a two-car collision.
The accident happened around 8am about one kilometre west of the Pacific Highway intersection and it took some time to free the woman, with westbound traffic blocked completely for some time and eastbound only getting through intermittently.
Detours were set up to direct traffic via Rawdon Island Road and Billabong Drive.
The car in which the woman was a passenger was travelling east along the highway when it attempted to turn right across the westbound lane into a driveway and was hit by an oncoming vehicle.
The woman's partner, who was driving, and a man in the oncoming vehicle were both taken to hospital, the latter with suspected neck injuries.
Police were still cleaning up the aftermath at 9am.
