There will be a sponsors' day on Monday and a sportsman's dinner on Monday night.
It is the 25th consecutive year of the event and the 20th year of Better Homes sponsorship.
A quality field has nominated for the 36 hole event which carries prize money of $25,000.
Anthony Summers was five under par for the 36 holes in winning last year.
He finished one shot ahead of Mitchell Brown, Neven Basic, David Bransdon and Ben Clementson.
All of these golfers are playing again this year.
Leigh McKechnie, who always plays well at Port Macquarie, will be attempting to win his third Better Homes Pro Am.
He won in 2012 and 2008 and he has finished in the placings half a dozen times.
Brad McIntosh, who is one of half a dozen in the field to have won a Seaside Classic at Port Macquarie as an amateur, last year won the pro ams at Wauchope and South West Rocks and this year will be trying to add the Better Homes event to his CV.
Nathan Green, another past Seaside Classic winner, is probably the best performed player in the field.
In 2009 he won the Canadian Open, beating Retief Goosen in a playoff.
In 2006 he finished in a three way tie for first with Tiger Woods and Jose Maria Olazabal in the Buick Invitation, before Woods won the play off.
Jake Higginbottom is an up and comer, having won the New Zealand Open as an amateur in 2012, and recently was the runner up to Steve Jeffress in the Fiji International.
Included amongst the local professionals playing are Andrew Kirkman, Will Gunn and Ben Hamilton.
A full field of 90 pros and 90 amateurs are expected to tee off on Tuesday and Wednesday.
As well as playing for the prize purse the professionals will play in the team event with the amateurs.
On Monday, as well as playing with the sponsors, some of the professionals will put on a demonstration of their skills.
On Monday evening a sportsman's dinner will be held with the guest speaker being cricket commentator and former test player Damian Fleming.
The night will be compared by NBN's Mike Rabbitt and a number of the professional golfers will be attending the dinner.
Bookings, at $60 per head, can be made by contacting Port Macquarie Golf Club.
The Port Macquarie golf course is a testing layout and has a course record of 63.
Members of the public are invited to come and watch these talented golfers ply their trade.
A seeded draw will be used on Wednesday with the leaders hitting off around 11.30am.
