Weatherzone meteorologist Guy Dixon said early indications pointed towards a pleasant weekend for Port Macquarie.
"Friday looks sunny with a top of 26 expected, while Saturday is looking to also be stable with a 20 to 30 per cent chance of afternoon showers," he said. "There might be some cloud which will come in during Saturday afternoon, but it is looking like it will be patchy, insignificant clouds."
The stable conditions were due to a dominant high pressure ridge, but there was the chance of a brief shower or two on Saturday afternoon.
"It's due to a dominant high pressure ridge, but those chance of showers will be because of moist, onshore winds.
"Kempsey is looking like it will potentially be warmer, but Port Macquarie will be cooled by those sea breezes."
Storm chasers might have to get in the car and head north.
"The risk of storms on the Mid-North Coast is highly unlikely with most of the activity to be in the Northern Rivers from north of Coffs Harbour."
Recent good conditions at the beach were also likely to hang around, with the chance of an increase in swell on Saturday afternoon.
"South-facing beaches could see an increase in swell to between three and four feet," Mr Dixon said.
