Peak Coffee Brew Lab will donate $1 for every cup of coffee they sell on April 1 while Rotary are also lending a hand with the recovery effort on the island of Tanna, devastated by Cyclone Pam just weeks ago.
Manager of Peak beverages Andrew Veitch visited the island a little over 12 months ago and through the business they struck up a partnership with the locals and also through another outlet in Sydney.
"We purchase our beans through Tony Macri who is involved with Coffee Brothers, so we wanted to get on board with him," he said.
"He visited Tanna in 2011 and I did 12 months ago, so we wanted to do our bit to help."
Mr Veitch was hopeful of achieving a fundraising goal of $5000.
"Hopefully with the support of the local community in Port Macquarie and elsewhere it is very possible for us to achieve a goal of $5000," he said.
"Five thousand dollars goes a long way in Vanuatu.
"I love the island and I love the people."
He said such was the devastation on the island of Tanna they wouldn't be able to get coffee beans from over there for more than a year.
"It's a cause that's very close to our hearts and we just want to feel like we're helping out in any way we can."
Along with the Peak Coffee fundraiser, all Rotary districts around the country have combined forces to establish an appeal through Rotary Australia World Community Service (RAWCS), a locally organised body within Australia with global reach.
Rotary D9650 NSW is now calling for donations from anyone who wishes to aid the recovery efforts in Vanuatu following the loss of life and property during Cyclone Pam.
