THE seven nominees for this year's Hastings Heroines Awards have been announced ahead of Friday's gala presentation night.

From a chamber of commerce president and pharmacist, to media executive and environmental campaigner, the inspirational women vying for the 2015 honours hail from a wide range of industries and professions. The honours list includes: Janine Buesnel; Kate Ferry; Sonia Fingleton; Jessica Laing; Jennifer Peters; Karen Pikett and; Nicole de Vulder.
Also attending Friday night's function will be Australia's longest-serving female politician Bronwyn Bishop, who promises to "share stories from her extensive political career and reflect on issues facing women today".
On the judging panel will be two of the founders of the awards, Kelly Lamb and Member for Port Macquarie Leslie Williams, along with one of the first recipients of the Hastings Heroine Awards, Lesley Tierney.
Mrs Tierney also represents the beneficiaries of this year's event, Port Macquarie Hastings Domestic and Family Violence Specialist Support Service.
Mrs Williams explained that the Hastings Heroines awards program is designed to "recognise local women who have made a real difference in our community".
Last year's event attracted more than 100 people and raised $4500 for the Port Macquarie Hastings Domestic and Family Violence Specialist Support Service.
