After 11 holes they were two down in their match against Peter and Sheena Gunn, but they managed to claw their way back to square with one hole left to play. They then won the last hole to win the match one up.
The Gordons will play Geoff Staines and Betty Dunn in Sunday's semi-final. Staines and Dunn both played well and they got away to a great start in their quarter-final, being seven up after eight holes, against Maurie and Annemaree Ferry.
The Ferrys fought back, winning the 10th and 11th holes, but this was short lived as Dunn won the 12th.
When the 14th hole was halved, Staines and Dunn had won five and four.
In a high quality match, David Dale and Laraine Hillier beat Bill and Irena MacDonald three and one. Hillier was particularly strong at the par threes and Dale made par at all but one of the par fours.
Dale and Hillier will now meet Stephan and Nathalie Tessede who eliminated the 2013 winners, Glen and Dawn Chesher.
The Tessedes won the match five and three.
