A little over 100 players hit off in the morning but heavy rain made the course unplayable and play was suspended for well over an hour.
The afternoon competition was abandoned and some of the morning field went out and completed their round.
The two ball best ball event was won by Warren Burke and Dennis Lisk with 42 points, the same score returned by Jackson Jubelin and Ken Stonestreet.
Burke and Lisk had a countback of 22 points, three more than Jubelin and Stonestreet. Jubelin played the last six holes by himself as his partner did not return to the course when play resumed.
Jubelin had a single event score of 41 points and he was a clear winner in the single event. Tom Biron won a countback for the single event runner up with 35 points.
The previous Thursday's aggregate stableford attracted another large field and produced some excellent scorers.
Once again the number in the field exceeded 280 and this included visitors from 10 clubs plus a number of reciprocal and country members.
The event was sponsored by club member Geoff Metcalf of Mobile Travel Agents.
Held in conjunction with the aggregate event was a single stableford and this was won by Geoff Staines with 44 points, one more than the runner up Matt Shipway.
Drew Smith and Jason Turner took out the aggregate event with 76 and Ollie Payne and Dave Lynch won a countback on 75 to take the runner up prize.
Staines took up from where he left off on Tuesday, shooting one over par for the front nine. This enabled him to turn with 24 points from his 15 handicap.
A further 20 points around the back gave him 44 points. He had 40 points on Tuesday.
He got a little lucky at the 12th hole where he hit his tee shot into the trees. Not expecting to find his ball he hit a provisional ball but he found the original ball and managed to escape with a point.
Shipway had 22 points out and 21 home and his round included two four pointers and six three pointers. He had birdies at the sixth and 10th holes.
For the winners of the aggregate event, Smith had 37 points and Turner 39. The pair played the back nine first and they turned with an aggregate of just 33 points but they blitzed the front nine, making 43 points.
Payne and Lynch also played the back nine first and they turned with 41 points before making 34 around the front.
Thirteen year old Payne, whose handicap has come down quickly to 10, made 40 points in the individual event while Lynch had 35. Payne made seven three pointers but failed to score any points at the sixth hole and had a one pointer at the first hole. He made birdies at the 12th and 17th holes.
Will Gunn played the back nine in just 30 shots and won the Clarence Street Newsagency scratch prize with his five under par round. He made an eagle and six birdies but double bogeyed the eighth hole.
The ball competition went down to 35 points on a countback and the nearest to the pins were won by John Beresfield, Peter Doyle, Bob Humphrey and Mick McIntosh.
